Undergraduate Students

Are you interested in learning about how research studies are conducted?

We are currently accepting applications for undergraduate research assistants from dedicated and responsible students who are interested in learning a variety of research skills. Students may need to register for course credit for their efforts and complete a background check. To get involved, please download and fill out the application form and email it to dcclab@uoit.ca. If your skills, experiences, interests, and availability fit with our current needs, we will contact you to visit the lab for an interview.

Please apply if you meet the following requirements:

  • Must have a minimum 3.5 GPA
  • Must commit to working in the lab for two semesters (or 1 summer and 1 semester)
  • Must commit to at least 10 hours per week of working in the lab

As a research assistant, responsibilities will vary and may include designing and implementing studies; collecting data in the lab or in schools; transcribing, coding, and entering data; and recruiting participants for studies. Studies may involve working with children/families, adolescents, or college students. Also, undergraduate students are expected to attend and participate in lab meetings.
